What to Expect with Physical Therapy:
- Do I have to have a referral from a Doctor?
- Our Physical Therapists can perform an evaluation of your condition and make recommendations without a referral.
- However, Kansas licensure laws and most insurance carriers require a prescription from a Physician to begin treatment.
- What do I need to get started?
- Contact us today and we can get you scheduled. We will need some basic demographic and insurance information at the time of scheduling.
- For your convenience, our Patient Information Forms are located on our website. Complete these forms in the comfort of your home and bring them with you to your first appointment.
- Does my insurance cover Physical Therapy?
- Medical insurance routinely covers Physical Therapy treatment. However, each insurance policy is unique. By providing us with your insurance information, we can check with your policy to determine your Physical Therapy benefits for you.
- Please call us today and our staff will be glad to assist you in determining your benefits.
- What should I wear?
- Wear something comfortable that will allow free movement and access to the area we will be treating. (If we're seeing you for your knee, please wear shorts)
- What will I do on my first visit?
- The reception counter will prepare your chart with your completed patient information, health questionnaire, insurance information, referral information, etc. Then you will meet with your Physical Therapist one on one so the therapist can get to know you and understand your injury.
- Each patient's situation is unique, and your plan of care will be established to meet your needs. Your treatment will be rendered in the form of manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and/or modalities specifically designed to enhance your healing ability and provide comfort. Plan to spend about 1 hour with us your first day.
